In contemporary contexts, eloping can also refer to a more private, intimate wedding ceremony that doesn't include a large number of guests, even if the couple doesn't keep it a secret.

Eloping in Scotland can be a romantic and adventurous way to celebrate your love. Scotland is currently the only country in the UK that allows you to get legally married anywhere with a registered celebrant.
