what does elope mean?
I get asked this quite a bit, what does elope mean? What’s the difference between and elopement and a wedding? Can we elope anywhere?
Eloping traditionally means getting married without telling anyone, especially family and friends. This often involves a sudden and secretive departure to avoid any objections or complications from loved ones. In contemporary contexts, eloping can also refer to a more private, intimate wedding ceremony that doesn't include a large number of guests, even if the couple doesn't keep it a secret.
Why ELOPING IN SCOTLAND IS Always a GOOD IDEA!
Eloping in Scotland can be a romantic and adventurous way to celebrate your love. Scotland is currently the only country in the UK that allows you to get legally married anywhere with a registered celebrant. You can pretty much choose anywhere and have free rein to pick mountains/forests/beaches, whatever suits you both as a couple. Here are some tips and information to help you plan your elopement:
Relaxed Elopement at The Lodge on Loch Goil
Joanne and Ian booked a relaxed elopement at The Lodge on Loch Goil. 2020 was a challenging year to say the least for anyone planning their wedding. With the restrictions in place and the constant changing of rules, masks, social distancing, live music being banned and receptions not allowed, it was proving almost impossible to try and prepare for your dream day. But love will prevail.
