Woodside Lodge on loch goil wedding

Joanne and Ian booked a relaxed elopement at The Lodge on Loch Goil. 2020 was a challenging year to say the least for anyone planning their wedding. With the restrictions in place and the constant changing of rules, masks, social distancing, live music being banned and receptions not allowed, it was proving almost impossible to try and prepare for your dream day. But love will prevail. And Joanne and Ian proved this. I was a tad nervous on the drive to the venue as it was my first wedding of the year with all the rules in place. Would I be allowed to photograph bridal prep? How can I still capture the intimacy of a day while distancing myself? How can I make sure I am safe while also keeping the small amount of guests safe? The nicest part of the day is all the smiling faces and how will that be possible hidden behind masks! All these questions were spinning around in my head on the way there...

Love prevails....

I needn't have worried. With the expertise of the brilliant team at the lodge on Loch Goil guided by the fantastic Alice mixed with Joanne and Ians relaxed approach to the day and humor, their day was magical from start to finish. While sticking to all the rules they made the day theirs with fun and laughter. Mask were worn, temperatures checked and social distancing in place, and yet the day was not over shadowed by the pandemic. The main feature of this day was just how in love these two are and together they can take on anything and still laugh hysterically. If anything their day made me love small, intimate weddings more and look forward to shooting more elopements in the future.
