I am Roma,
Nostalgic for 90s skater music, pirate boot wearing geek with a camera.
I'm a fine art photographer for the adventurous and the romantic, and my base in Scotland suits this style perfectly with the Outlander style scenery of Lochs and mountains right on my doorstep . I have been described as an 'artistic' photographer by others and this probably sums up my work quite well.
Having your photo taken can be a bit nerve wracking, no one likes the thought of being the centre of attention so when you book me as your photographer, your not just booking someone with a camera, your inviting someone to be part of your special day and my main aim is to make you feel at ease and hopefully like having another friend there on the day.
With over a decade of experience in the wedding industry, and the honor of capturing over 150 weddings, 60 family and baby photoshoots, I appreciate the priceless value of these moments. From the flower girls and page boys racing around during bridal prep, parents crying during the ceremonies and grandparents showing off their best moves on your dance floor, I love to get right in amongst it all.

MY WORLD - Mummy to my two gorgeous, strong, comical, fun girls.
LOVE - My husband and I met waaaay back at high school (I asked him to prom as all my mates where asking boys I didn’t want to be the odd one out although I was much more interested in just hanging out with my girls). We stayed close mates for years until he asked me out and 21 years later we are still best friends and husband and wife. He’s my rock and love of my life.
MASSIVE DORK IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA - Just like you, I also hate having my photo taken. Despite being signed to the biggest model agency in Scotland for 10 years from aged 17, I still feel uncomfortable in front off a camera. I am very comfortable in my own skin and body but not a fan of being centre of attention. However the skill of some photographers put me at ease and that’s what I want to do with you. Make you feel at ease like you are hanging out with a mate. Plus a photo never tells the story of how unglamorous it is behind the scenes - (see Joules photo) me wondering what’s for dinner and my mate worrying about worms so trying to keep her head off the grass.
FAIRYTALES - My previous jobs have included bridal dress buyer, assistant manager in an award winning bridal boutique. This has come in useful when you need help with that corset in your dress as everyone else has forgotten how to do it, Iv also had to drop the cameras and stitch brides dresses on the day. ENJOY A BIT OF TIME TRAVEL - I was head hunted by Starz to be the official photographer for a time travelling show filmed in Scotland but the hours where not going to work raising a young family. 15 hour days, hats off to the crew as it’s hard work.
ADDICTION - Chocolate is my vice, I can eat my own body weight in it, a chocolate orange lasts 2 mins around me. It takes me so much will power not to eat chunks out your wedding cake on your wedding day.
MASS OF CONTRADICTIONS - Disney obsessed but at the same time I also love movies like Aliens, ghostbusters and gladiator. Nostalgia for all the 90s skater music. I’m a mega embarrassment on the dance floor if 90s dance music comes on to.
ODDBALL - Weirdo according to most people as I don’t like warm drinks and my taste buds seem to be stuck at aged 15, my husband laughs that I am a cheap date as I’d pick a pint of coke and pizza over a posh restaurant.
TRIBE - I’m incredibly family oriented, they are my pack, from my adoring grandparents, my strong minded and creative parents to my three dark humoured and supportive brothers who I see most weekends and even have matching tattoos. So you know I will be seeking out the key members of your tribe on your special day and get photos of them as I understand how much these people mean to you.
MY INTEREST FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
First sparked in my teenage years
My interest for photography first sparked in my teenage years when I was signed to an agency as a model, after 10 years in this industry I realised I was much more comfortable being behind the camera than in front, and just like you, I don't like having my photo taken. These years have helped me realise how scary and uncomfortable it can be to be photographed so one of my main focuses is always to make my clients feel at ease, almost so much so by the end of the shoot we will be most likely chatting like old friends .I studied photography at Glasgow city Collage learning all aspects from film, developing in dark rooms to studio and editing.
MY STYLE
Happy, romantic, fun and light just as your day should be.
I don’t follow photography trends as I love to create photographs that are timeless, classic and romantic. So that in 10 years time you will still look back and love them without them looking dated.
I find the couples who book me have similar traits to me. Chilled with a good sense of humor. Who adore their families and want this love captured.
Most Important Memories
They say photographs are the only tangible memories, which means that my perspective is how you will remember some of the most important moments in your life. With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes by so fast, so it's my job to document your story...beautifully.
I get to know couples over the course of several months and get a sense of their personality, I consider the spontaneous and candid moments throughout the wedding day, as well as the environment, ideal lighting, backdrop and time of day for taking the best images. The end result is a mix of natural reportage photos emphasizing the narrative of the day, the character of the wedding destination and a strong sense of the couple’s personality.
