One movie changed my path

I nearly didn't become a photographer
At 20 I graduated with a B.A in fashion design from the prestigious Textiles School and the dream was to go work for Vogue.

However after sweating through a screening of The Devil Wears Prada 1 knew the fashion world was not for me. I don't follow others, I like to walk to the beat of my own drum and I value people, friendships, love, laughter and a sense of humor over materialist stuff. Plus I don't give a crap about fashion. I am more influenced by clothes in movies than Vogue. Give me pirates, moulin rouge corsetry, fantasy looks over stuffy fashion any day.

I was constantly rebeling against the industry. I would lose marks for refusing to make my illustrations stick thin, instead I would draw my models with superwoman stvle curves inspired by my favourite comic book artist.

This led to many stand offs with my tutors as I would point blank refuse to draw my models without womanly curves.

I hate having my photo taken 

Just like you, I also hate having my photo taken. Despite spending over 10 years infront of the camera being signed to the biggest model agency in Scotland from aged 17.
I still feel uncomfortable if someone tries to take my picture. I am a massive dork in front of a camera and struggle to take it seriously (think growing up with a pack of brothers maybe contributed to nonsense in front of the camera). I am very comfortable in my own skin and body but not a fan of being centre of attention. However the skill of some photographers put me at ease and that's what I want to do with you. Make you feel at ease like you are hanging out with a mate.

My Values

For me life is about the people we love, not the things we own. Family, connection, and shared moments mean far more than anything material.
That's why, as a wedding photographer, I focus on capturing images that hold real emotion, the laughter, the hugs from teary eyed grand parents, the first look with parents, the laughter of the kids enjoying the day, your mates drunkenly singing and dancing with you on that dance floor like your 18 again, the joy of just all being together. These are the memories that last. The photographs I create are made to be treasured, to hang on your walls and make you smile for years, even decades, to come.

My main aim

Having your photo taken can be a bit nerve wracking, no one likes the thought of being the centre of attention so when you book me as your photographer, your not just booking someone with a camera, your inviting someone to be part of your special day and my main aim is to make you feel at ease and hopefully like having an friend there on the day.

Past jobs 

My previous jobs have included bridal dress buyer, assistant manager in an award winning bridal boutique.
This has come in useful when you need help with that corset in your dress as everyone else has forgotten how to do it. Iv also had to drop the cameras and stitch brides dresses on the day. In spare time I also work as a SA with the occasional time travelling in a well known show filmed in Scotland.

*Fun Fact -I was head hunted by Starz to be the official photographer for a time travelling show filmed in
Scotland but the hours where not going to work raising a young family.

Here's some things Iv learnt after over a decade in front of the camera.
Lighting can either make or break an  image. Your photographer knows this and will guide you to the most flattering light.

Here's the most important thing I learnt.
A good photographer will make you feel at ease and actually enjoy having your photo taken.
After many photoshoots I remember the ones
 I liked the best. And it wasn't down to the outfits
or the locations. It was how the photographer made me feel, relaxed and at ease infront of the camera.
