hAZEL & GREGGS SEAMILL HYDRO WEDDING

The anticipation of Hazel and Gregg’s wedding at the Seamill Hydro in Ayrshire was heightened by the weather forecast predicting storms and wind. However, this dynamic backdrop only added to the charm and excitement of their special day, with the evening light casting a breathtaking glow over the stunning views of Arran. As an ayrshire wedding photographer I couldn’t wait to get out onto seamill hydros beach and capture these moments.

The Venue: Seamill Hydro

Nestled on the Ayrshire coast, Seamill Hydro offers an unparalleled blend of Victorian elegance and contemporary luxury. This venue boasts panoramic views of the Firth of Clyde and the beautiful isle of Arran, providing a picturesque setting for any wedding. The TorryLinn suite, with its floor-to-ceiling glass doors, floods the room with natural light, making it a perfect space for both ceremonies and receptions.

The Morning Preparations

The day began with Hazel and her bridesmaids getting ready in the luxurious bridal suite. The room was filled with laughter, a bit of nervous excitement. Her little flower girl Charlotte spent the morning playing peek a boo in the curtains. Meanwhile, Gregg and his groomsmen prepared in a separate suite, then wandered outside the front of the Seamill Hydro to start greeting guests.

The Ceremony: A Blend of Love and Craftsmanship

The ceremony room, a recent addition to Seamill Hydro, held a special significance as Gregg and his father had designed and constructed the new building. This personal touch added a unique and heartfelt element to the day. Despite the stormy weather, the room was warm and inviting, filled with the love and support of family and friends. As Hazel walked down the aisle, the room fell silent, the only sound being the chatter of the page boys and flower girl.

Weathering the Storms

Just as I do with all my weddings I had been keeping an eye on the weather in the morning so knew to expect strong winds and intermittent storms, these elements only seemed to heighten the beauty of the event. The stormy skies provided a dramatic backdrop for many of the photographs, adding a sense of epic romance to the images. By the evening, the weather had calmed, giving way to beautiful, soft light that bathed the landscape in a warm glow.

The couple’s nephews, full of energy and excitement, added a lively dynamic to the day. Their laughter and playful antics brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Views Over Arran

One of the highlights of the day was the stunning views over Arran. As the evening light softened, it cast a magical glow over the landscape, creating perfect conditions for capturing unforgettable moments. The seamless blend of natural beauty and expertly designed spaces at Seamill Hydro made for a photographer’s dream.
