Lake District Wedding

Another Place Hotel

The lake district is one of my favourite places, I used to spend summers here with my grandparents and find it such a beautiful calming place. As a family we go nearly every year and spend time in amongst the stunning scenery. So when I found out Sinitta and Carl were going to have their wedding here I could not contain my excitement. Throw in the fact they were going to bring all their babies, and by babies I mean their pack of little schnauzers, I barely slept the night before I was so excited!

The weather in the lake district is well know for for its rain however on this day it was sunshine right through. The beautiful Another Place Hotel was the ideal setting for their dream day, with space for all their guests to stay and also allowed the dogs too. With striking gardens and views overlooking the hills, we were spoilt for choice for photos.

Sinitta and Carl have such good attention to detail and brought together a brilliant team of suppliers on the day who worked seamlessly and were so friendly including Green Earth Flowers who decorated the church and the hotel in beautiful blues and pinks. From the personalised favors, to the fireworks, everything was thought of so their guests had an enjoyable day too.

Thanks so much you two for having me, I loved meeting all your little babies and was so worth rolling around the grass for :).

Wishing you guys all the future happiness.

The Lodge on Loch Goil Elopement

Joanne & Ian

2020 was a challenging year to say the least for anyone planning their wedding. With the restrictions in place and the constant changing of rules, masks, social distancing, live music being banned and receptions not allowed, it was proving almost impossible to try and prepare for your dream day. But love will prevail. And Joanne and Ian proved this. I was a tad nervous on the drive to the venue as it was my first wedding of the year with all the rules. Would I be allowed to photograph bridal prep? How can I still capture the intimacy of a day while distancing myself? How can I make sure I am safe while also keeping the small amount of guests safe? The nicest part of the day is all the smiling faces and how will that be possible hidden behind masks! All these questions were spinning around in my head on the way there…

Love prevails….

I needn’t have worried. With the expertise of the brilliant team at the lodge on Loch Goil guided by the fantastic Alice mixed with Joanne and Ians relaxed approach to the day and humor, their day was magical from start to finish. While sticking to all the rules they made the day theirs with fun and laughter. Mask were worn, temperatures checked and social distancing in place, and yet the day was not over shadowed by the pandemic. The main feature of this day was just how in love these two are and together they can take on anything and still laugh hysterically.  If anything their day made me love small, intimate weddings more and look forward to shooting more elopements in the future.

Wishing you guys all the luck and happiness in the future, you are made for each other and so warm and welcoming.

The Lodge on Loch Lomond Wedding

After spending time with Jill and Liam in Glencoe on their engagement shoot, I was very much looking forward to their wedding day. The two of them had so many fantastic and creative ideas for the day to make sure everyone had a good time. And their wedding day did not disappoint! With a luxury boat cruise around Loch Lomond for their guests to a performance of the Greatest Showman which included all their bridesmaids and best men, it was a day to remember. Spending the day with these two was like hanging out with a couple of friends, it was very relaxed and and fun and the whole day flowed this way.

Its a good thing their wedding was relaxed and fun as a month later they would be embarking on a new adventure and moving to Hong Kong! The perfect match and travel companions together, wishing you all the future happiness together and all the luck on your exciting new adventure abroad.

Boturich Castle Wedding

Emily & Stuart

Emily and Stuart had their heart set on an outdoor wedding overlooking Loch Lomond. Boturich castle had everything they wanted from a venue.

On the morning of the wedding emotions were high. Stuarts sister had been very unwell and there was a lot of doubt wether she would make it on their day.
With showers visible across the loch and no sign of Stuarts sister arriving, the chairs for the ceremony all got moved inside the marque to prepare for the ceremony being indoors.
Emily was running a little late getting ready and after 20 minutes the sun came out just in time for Stuarts sister arriving with his much loved little niece.
Staff and friends got together and quickly got all the chairs back outside again just in time for Emily to make her entrance and walk down the isle.

Every thing fell into place after this on their day.  The sun shone and stayed out all day, all the guests enjoyed the views and beautiful ceremony. The children ran around the lawns and Emily and Stuarts dream day came together surrounded by all their loved ones and finished with their guests all dancing the evening away as the sun set over the loch.

It really was a fairytale day from start to finish

Crossbasket Castle Wedding

Sarah and Peter

Sarah & Peter held their wedding at the stunning Crossbasket Castle  and what a day for it!

The sun shone all day, it felt like being abroad it was so lovely and warm. Which was ideal for all of their guests to enjoy mingling outside after the ceremony. The gang of little flower girls and boys made the most of the weather too. With stunning grounds and gardens the kids could run free and there was constant laughter and giggling from them all as they careered up and down the grassy slopes in front of the castle and around the fountain.

Sarah had chosen the perfect dress for the setting, she looked like a modern day princess in her Aline gown from Pronovias. Teamed with a full length veil she had her bridesmaids tearing up at the sight of her. She remained so calm and composed all morning. Peter had his best men and ushers to keep him company in the morning and greeted his guests out in the sunshine. Pete looked a little nervous at the end of the isle waiting on his bride but once Sarah was in sight it was none stop smiling from the pair of them all day.

Their guests had travelled from all over the world for their special day and everyone made the most of the party dancing away until late.

This really was a fairytale wedding from the castle location, the outfits, the weather, to the fact Pete and Sarah are so perfect for each other. Wishing you guys a lifetime of happiness together.

Monachlye Mhor Hotel Wedding // Elopement Scotland // Rory & Sarah

Monachyle Mhor Hotel Wedding  – One of my favourite things about Scotland is out hidden gems of wedding venues, in amongst the breath taking scenery, there are these amazing little venues that suit intimate weddings and elopements. Monachlye Mhor Hotel is one of the finest.

Elopement Scotland…

When Sarah emailed me looking for availability for her elopement I jumped at the chance. I love nothing more that escaping up north with my cameras and capturing elopements. Sarah and Rorys elopement had just two witnesses….well three if you count their imminent little arrival! Sarah was eight months pregnant when they decided to elope and a little sibling for the their daughter was due very soon. When I was eight months pregnant I could basically only wear flip flops and climbing the stairs exhausted me. Sarah is super woman as not only did she arrive looking stunning, she had heels on AND managed to climb up a hill to say her vows. And she didn’t even break a sweat. Once on top of the hill over looking the loch they said their vows and became husband and wife.

This has got to be one of my favourite elopements I have photographed. Purely for the fact Rory and Sarah were so relaxed. The only thing that mattered was they wanted to be married. It was so peaceful in top of the hill watching them say there vows with just the birds and witnesses for company. I felt so incredibly honored to be part of such a special moment. They continued their day with dinner together and over night stay at the hotel to then be joined by their daughter the next day. Massive congratulations Mr & Mrs Kerr. xxx

The Lodge on Loch Goil wedding // Ruby & Luke

Ruby & Luke celebrated with close family and friends in a small intimate wedding at the award winning Lodge on Loch Goil.

Intimate and cosy….

From my initial meeting with Ruby and Luke, I knew they had very much made up their minds what was important to them on their wedding day. They wanted it intimate, cosy and just close friends and family on their day.  The lodge on loch Goil is the ideal wedding venue for this. Hidden away on the banks of loch goil, it feels like you have entered another world. It is a lovely escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Ruby had chosen the ideal dress for her day. With a small train and delicate diamante straps teamed with lace panelling, it showed off Rubys figure perfectly. She wanted no fuss and kept everything very subtle. Teaming her stunning Enzoani dress with a small diamante headpiece. In keeping with the calmness of the day, Ruby did her own hair in her signature style and her own makeup which meant there was total peace and quiet and calmness getting ready. Alice their wedding coordinator made sure the day flowed perfectly, with live music on the lawn as Ruby walked down the steps to Luke, to their intimate family meal which had everyone in tears as Luke spoke personally to each family member about what they meant to them. To finish off this beautiful day Ruby surprised Luke by singing to him with an adapted version of Your Song.

It was a beautiful day from start to finish with laughter and tears. I was made to feel so welcome by all of your lovely family and loved being part of your special day. Massive Congrats Ruby & Luke.xxx

Edinburgh city centre wedding – All weddings are fun! I have laughed and sometimes shed a little tear at all of the wedding I have shot. But what I will always remember about Robyn and Marks special day was the fact I laughed so much my face ached! Iv seen all sorts of entertainment and wedding favours but I think theirs has been my all time favourite. Each guest had a kazoo, and in a box on each table was a choice of songs. Each table had to pick a song to learn and then play it for the rest of the room. I will never forget making my way back through the hotel lobby after moving some of my kit and hearing what sounded like 1000 ducks! Walking into a room with over 120 kazoos going off at the same time all playing different songs was the funniest thing I have ever heard/seen. Everyone put so much effort in and we even had some singers really going for it.

This fun and laughter was a theme throughout their day. Even during their wedding vows the pair were in fits of laughter and it continued into the evening. With the game of throne touches, hilarious best men speech and cake made by gran, these two made their day so personal from start to finish.

I loved shooting you wedding Mr & Mrs Lane and wishing you all the luck in the future.

Windmill Barn Wedding //

Claire & Rory

This beautiful Windmill Barn wedding took place on the hottest weekend of the year so far. Claire & Rory said there vows outside on the easter weekend in the glorious sunshine in front of family and close friends. As the guests arrived at the relaxed setting of windmill barn they could catch sight of glimmering treasure hidden in the walls and dotted around the grounds. This was down to Claire and Rory who had organised a lovely easter egg hunt for their guests. Everywhere I went I caught site of little easter eggs hidden in the funniest of places.

Claire and Rorys big day was calm and relaxed from the start which seemed to match them as a couple perfectly. Claire got ready at her family home with her bridesmaids, mum and dad and flower girls all dotted between rooms it was amazingly calm and quiet for the morning of a wedding. This atmosphere flowed through the rest of the day.  From Claires choice in gorgeous gown by designer Charlie Brear. With its tassles and soft silhouette it looked elegant and understated, teamed with a full length veil and delicate flowers in her hair by Emma Scott, Claire looked every inch the relaxed and stylish bride.

Sunshine to sparklers…

Windmill Barn was all set for the ceremony to be held outside in the sunshine. With all the guests sitting out enjoying the sun and Rory and his best man sporting shades as he waited for Claire. Games and easter egg hunts followed the ceremony which then led onto the beautifully styled reception. The tables where filled with glasswear decorated in fairylights made by Claire. Claires sister had drawn detailed pictures of locations that where special to the couple. All these details made for a welcoming and cosy atmosphere to celebrate the evening away.

As the sun went down on their amazing day, guests where still dancing around the pond, eating home made treats and showering the couple in light with sparklers.

Thank you for letting me be part of your beautiful day and massive congratulations Mr & Mrs Young! xxx

p.s special thanks to Claire and Alan at Windmill Barn for being so welcoming and friendly, their customer service adds to what already is a fantastic wedding location. xxx

Rosslea Hall Hotel Wedding // Fay & James

“Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.”

Such an emotional day with lots of tears at this Rosslea Hall Hotel Wedding. Fay and Jimmys wedding was a cosy small family filled wedding with lots of personal touches. Set in beautiful Rhu at The Rosslea Hall Hotel these two said their own written vows to each other in front of a small selection of people and there was not a dry eye in the house. One of my favourite moments of the day was seeing Fays dad see in her dress for the first time. The emotion was all over his face and the excitement in the room was electric. Thanks for braving the cold guys and having me as part of your special day. xxx
